Interventionist and CEO of Confidential Recovery Scott H. Silverman visited KUSI studios again on Sunday, May 31st to discuss how families can protect their children from deadly drugs. You can watch Scott’s entire segment on KUSI San Diego by clicking this link.
Scott is a widely renowned addiction expert, having helped people escape the clutches of drug and alcohol addiction for several decades, and has led the crusade for families to “expect fentanyl” and make sure their kids were aware that “one pill can kill” in recent years.
When he was asked by the KUSI host what he recommends for parents that are concerned about their teens (or tween) children he emphasized getting informed and then listening and taking a collaborative approach to the matter.
“Let them talk to you,” says Scott along with other truisms like “you have two ears and one mouth.” His experience has shown him that even if you are concerned about the direction your son or daughter is going in, and you are certain you know what’s better for them, your kids will respond better when they feel like they are being heard and are part of a conversation.
Scott’s most recent book ‘You’re Not God that Job is Taken’ is an Amazon bestseller, and you can read reviews and purchase here: ‘You’re Not God that Job is Taken.’
