Crisis Coach Scott H. Silverman appeared on KUSI San Diego on Sunday, January 25th to discuss his latest book, You’re Not God, That Job is Taken.
Scott clarified that the title was not so much about the reader’s religious belief system, but more about getting them to reflect on how about how they are approaching life’s challenges, speifically if they are trying to control things they cannot, or do too much without accepting help from others.
Scott’s decades of helping people find recovery guided the lessons he chose for the book in which he touches on topics like the importance of self-care, self-reflection and knowing when to ask for help when (and being willing to accept it).
As always, parents who want to intervene in the lives of struggling kids often find they are trying to “play God,” so Scott included his number (619) 993-2738 for anyone who’s having a family crisis, and he also urged people who are worried about a friend or loved one to proactively check in on them and see if you can be of assistance.
