Scott H. Silverman discussed the ongoing opioid crisis on America Trends earlier this month. Scott and the show host Mary Burke Godwin, discussed the disturbing documentary “American Pain.“
Then Scott described the challenges he faces in getting help to those who are most ‘at risk’ in the fentanyl overdose epidemic. Opioid overdoses claimed 107,000+ lives last year “that we know about” (per the CDC).
“Fentanyl is a poison” according to Scott, and the more we learn, the more danger is everywhere. For instance, according to legal and medical authorities in California, up to 80% of the illicit drugs in California are laced with fentanyl. A lot of the people who succumb to opioid overdose are taking counterfeit version of another drug (like Xanax/benzodiazepines, Adderall, percocet, or others). Fentanyl is also increasingly found in cocaine and heroin. You can call Confidential Recovery at (619) 452–1200 to learn about treatment for fentanyl addiction (and other opioids).
